Martha Stewart has shared more details about her and her husband's affair.

The affair had already been discussed in the trailer for her new Netflix documentary, but now that the film has been released, we know a little more about exactly what happened between her and Andrew Stewart.

First, the mogul recalled their honeymoon in Italy when she was just 19 years old. On the eve of Easter, Martha wanted to go to church, but Andrew did not, so she went alone to the Duomo in Florence.

“It was a very romantic place, crowded with tourists. 'He didn't know I was married. He didn't know I was married. I was just some tramp girl hanging out in the cathedral on Easter eve. He was emotional. I was emotional. Just because it was an emotional place. It was a place like I had never experienced before.”

She continued, “It was like nothing I had ever done before. So why not kiss a stranger?

When the producer asked her if she thought this constituted cheating, Martha replied, “It wasn't sex or cheating. It was just something emotional in the moment. That was my view.”

Later in the documentary, Martha reminisces about Andrew: “He was a very good man. I don't know how many girlfriends I had during this time, but I think I had quite a few.”

She then added a line from the trailer: “Take my advice, young ladies. If you're married and you think you're happily married and your husband starts cheating on you, he's scum.” Get out of that marriage,” she added.

But she explained that at the time, she did not feel ready to leave her marriage.

The producer then asked the celebrity chef about an affair she had while she was a stockbroker. She said, “Yeah, but I don't think Andy knows about that,” but the producer told her that Andrew did in fact know and had told him about the affair.

“He says he didn't stray from the marriage until you told him you were already straying,” the producer added, but Martha denied this and said, “No, I don't. I don't think so.”

She explained. 'I had a very brief affair with a very attractive Irish man. And, um, it was nothing. It was nothing. I didn't break up a marriage over it. It was nothing.” As an aside, she added, ”It was like kissing in a cathedral.

The Stewarts were married between 1961 and 1990 and are the parents of Alexis Stewart, born in 1965.
