Princess Diana's former bodyguard tells what really happened when she confronted Camilla about Prince Charles' affair.

Much has been written about the beginnings of the relationship between King Charles and Queen Camilla, especially their affair while the King was married to Princess Diana; their romance became one of the biggest royal scandals of the 20th century, and now a former royal bodyguard is recounting what happened when Diana confronted her husband's mistress on Now a former royal bodyguard recounts what happened on that fateful night in 1987 when Diana confronted her husband's mistress.

Ken Whorf, who worked as the princess's bodyguard, told ITV (via the Mirror) that Diana had been invited to a party hosted by Camilla Parker Bowles' sister Annabelle Elliot, but no one expected her to actually show up.

“Princess Diana didn't have any special social interaction at that party, but when we arrived there, it was like a scene from a movie freeze-framed from the surprise that Princess Diana had arrived,” Wolff recalled.

Diana herself described the party in Andrew Morton's biography, Diana: Her True Story. I was a total fish out of water. But I decided I was going to do it the hard way. I was going to make an impact,” she told her biographer. But an hour later, she says, things got awkward.

“I went outside and Diana was there and said, ‘I can't find my husband or Camilla, so come with me,’” Wolff told ITV, adding that the princess was “in some distress” and “couldn't refuse.”

He continued, “I found the prince and Camilla sitting on a couch in the basement of this estate talking. Rather than slink away, Diana found the “confidence” to confront Parker Bowles, the former royal bodyguard recalled.

“I didn't really know what Diana was going to do at that point, but with great confidence, Diana approached them and said to Camilla, ‘Don't treat me like an idiot, I know what's going on,’” Wolfe told ITV.

“I was like, 'I know what's going on.

“It must be hell for both of them,” Diana told Camilla, according to Morton's biography.

During the confrontation, the Protector admitted that Parker Bowles' response to the princess made him wonder. “Camilla said something that to this day I don't really understand what she meant,” Wolff revealed, explaining that the future queen told Diana, ”You know, you have two wonderful boys.”

He had no idea what Camilla meant by her statement, but Wolff said the encounter was “an incredible moment for me and certainly for them.”

Diana, who divorced Charles in 1996, later admitted in an interview with BBC's Panorama that “it was a little crowded because there were three of us in this marriage.” But of that fateful party, Wolff said, “At that point, ...... was a defining moment in their lives because I think it was an indicator that the end was near.”
