Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are not the only royal style stars. One of the up-and-coming princesses on the fashion scene is Belgium's 23-year-old future queen, Princess Elisabeth.

The eldest daughter of Queen Mathilde and King Philippe, Princess Elisabeth celebrated her birthday on Friday, October 25, balancing royal events with her studies for a master's degree in public policy at Harvard University, while maintaining the perfect mix of casual and formal style.

The future Queen of Belgium has had quite an accomplished life so far, graduating from Cambridge University in July and completing a year-long course at Belgium's Royal Military Academy.

From relaxed outfits like cargo pants and sweater vests to elegant caped gowns, Elisabeth has shown that dressing like a princess means being able to rock both camouflage and couture. Below are five of her best recent styles.

The Belgian princess made a bold statement in a caped fuchsia dress from Essentiel Antwerp for the wedding of Jordan's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah and Princess Rajwa in 2023.

Elizabeth, who was joined by Princess Kate, Prince William, and many other European royals for the occasion, chose a flowing bright pink dress with cape and coordinated matching pumps and clutch bag. She then changed into a stunning blue beaded gown and diamond tiara for the reception, adding an extra touch of glamour.

In June 2020, the princess joined her family for a visit to the Boklik Park and Open-Air Museum in Genk, Belgium, where she showed off her sporty and sophisticated summer ensemble.

Elizabeth chose a high-street look for the occasion, pairing olive green skinny cargo pants from H&M with a white scalloped sleeveless crop top from royal purveyor Zara. She paired it with classic white sneakers and gold hoop earrings as she cycled through the park with Queen Mathilde, King Philippe, and her brothers.

Elizabeth showed off her classic American style as she begins a two-year program at Harvard University in September 2024. The future queen looked like a college student as she posed in front of the campus buildings (and, incidentally, the American flag) while wearing a pair of Tommy Hilfiger wide-leg jeans and a sleeveless brown top.

With her hair down in casual waves, the princess added a touch of casual cool with green suede Adidas sneakers and a gold Maje necklace that marked her star sign, Scorpio. Her exact jeans are no longer available, but this Tommy Hilfiger pair gives a similar look.

Like many royals, Princess Elisabeth showed sartorial diplomacy while choosing her outfit for Belgium's National Day in 2022.

She wore a scarlet Victoria Beckham dress with cold-shoulder detailing for the occasion, paired with a custom red headband by Emily London that would look great on Princess Kate's head. She finished her look with dangling gold statement earrings and nude pumps, and borrowed one of her mother's favorite gold clutch bags for a small touch of the queen's charm.

For her 23rd birthday, Elisabeth stepped out in Missoni-like style from Princess Kate-approved brand Ba&Sh. Walking through the leaf-covered streets of Boston, she wrote in an Instagram post from the Belgian royal palace, “Princess Elisabeth is 23 years old today! Thanks for the birthday wishes (from the US)!”

In the photo, she wore a colorful short-sleeved wrap top in shades of sapphire blue, brown, black, and white stripes, paired with a matching midi skirt with a slit in the front. She finished off her modern princess birthday look with black knee-high boots, gold hoops, and a long pendant necklace.
