[Barack Obama's daughter Malia Obama is doing everything she can to make it on her own.

President Obama recently appeared on The Pivot Podcast and was asked about how President and Mrs. Michelle Obama are encouraging their daughters Malia and Sasha.

“The challenge for us is getting them to help at all,” the President said. 'I mean, they are very sensitive about this. They are very stubborn.” [Maria is making a film. Maria is making a film. She's working with Donald [Glover], and her first film was in Sundance and all these gorgeous festivals. [She was Maria Ann. She used her middle name and didn't write Obama. I said, 'Do you realize they know who you are? And she said, 'You know, I want them to see this film for the first time.

He concluded, “I don't think my daughters would bother trying to take advantage of that.”

In February of this year, news broke that the former First Daughter was using the name Maria Ann in the credits of the short film “The Heart.”

In March, Donald Glover said of Maria to Vanity Fair, “She's a great writer. She has a wonderful way of writing.”

His brother, Steven Glover, who is working with Donald and Maria on a new Amazon series, joked, “You can't go easy on her just because she's the daughter of the (former) president.”

And from what I hear, she doesn't want that either!
