Ariana Grande is a true Sandy Liang girl in a set of $625 ballet flats and an unreleased gingham skirt
For the past few months, Ariana Grande's wardrobe has been all pastels. A relative newcomer to the dressing game, she has been wearing the colors of her Wicked character nonstop, popping out every shade of pink.
Naturally, in this new style era, Grande has turned to designer Sandy Liang, the arbiter of girly-girl style. Yesterday, the pop star posted one of her famously chaotic photos. Instead of her usual bubblegum, she wore a baby blue gingham, a two-piece miniskirt set by the label. With its square neck and super short hem, this was a standout coordinating look for the mod aesthetic that Grande has regularly embraced
.
The two-piece debuted at Sandy Liang's September Fashion Week show and came straight off the brand's Spring/Summer 2025 runway. The collection struck a chord with many of the brand's fans because of its simple, no-frills theme. It was a surprising turnaround from a brand known for covering everything in ribbons.
Styled on the runway with gingham fits, hot pink metallic strappy sandals, and rectangular shoulder bags, Grande aimed for a more ballet-core-inspired vibe (another brand signature). We Can't Be The “Friends” singer took a Glinda the Good Witch aesthetic and paired her sheer white tights with satin ballet flat shoes, also by Sandy Lian. The square-toe, blush pink $625 pair looked more like actual pointe shoes than a stylish remake.
Her cat-ear era is iconic and her over-the-knee boots will go down in fashion history, but this is Grande's best era to date.
