Beyonce Transforms into Betty Davis for Halloween, Sparks Rumors of Future Rock Album
Celebrity Halloween costumes were floating around all week, but I wasn't prepared for how great Beyonce's costume would look. Probably because I thought it would be impossible to top her 2017 look. She recreated five different Lil Kim costumes in one spooky season.
Like her homage to Lil' Kim, some of the best costumes are homages to personal pop culture heroes. These include Haley Bieber dressed as Britney Spears and Saweetie as all three members of Destiny's Child. This year's celebration featured even more iconic examples: Emily Ratajkowski as J.Lo, Elsa Hosk as Princess Diana, and last but not least, Beyoncé as Betty Davis.
The Cowboy Carter singer recreated the cover art for Davis' 2005 compilation album This Is It. She wore a zebra print bodysuit with fur on the shoulders and white pin-heeled cowboy boots.
She accessorized her look with a chrome cuff bracelet, two chunky cocktail rings, and oversized triangle earrings. Her makeup consisted of glossy red lipstick, shimmering silver eyeshadow, and smoldering black eyeliner. Meanwhile, her hair was teased into a Davis-inspired afro to complete the look.
On Instagram, she captioned the post “Betty Davis in my bones,” referring to the lyrics of Beyoncé's song “Bodyguard.” It didn't take long for the post to fuel rumors that the pop star was working on a rock album.
If true, the album would be the third in Beyonce's three-act project. It is a compelling theory, to say the least.
