Rapper Cardi B has officially endorsed the 2024 presidential candidate, using fashion to send a clear political message.

On Friday, November 1, Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, also known as Cardi B, spoke at a campaign rally for Vice President Kamala Harris at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center in West Allis, Wisconsin. [This was a clear tribute to the suffrage movement, which was also worn by the women (and some men) who attended this year's Democratic National Convention (DNC) to see Harris become the first black and Asian woman to receive a presidential nomination from a major party.

The suits, decorated with ribbons on the sleeves and waist, were paired with white gloves and matching white pumps.

During her appearance, Cardi B endorsed Harris for president and admitted that she had no intention of voting in this year's presidential election until the vice president joined the race.

“To tell you the truth, I wasn't going to vote this year. But Kamala Harris participated in the election and completely changed my mind. I had no faith in any of the candidates until she joined the election and said what I wanted to hear,” the rapper and mother of three said.

In July, President Joe Biden officially dropped out of the presidential race following intense scrutiny from both Republicans and Democrats. While announcing his decision to drop out of the presidential race, President Biden endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, for president. Harris became the official Democratic presidential nominee at this year's DNC.

For the historic moment, Harris also wore a power suit featuring a navy wool two-piece suit and matching pussy bow blouse, custom designed by Chloe Creative Director Chemena Kamali.

The candidate's dark blue suit undoubtedly represented feelings of “serenity and deep introspection.” This color may also bring feelings of trust and credibility.

Meanwhile, the vice president's pussy-bow blouse also took on historical and feminist significance after becoming an alternative to the suit and tie in the 60s and 70s, when women stepped out of the kitchen and into the corporate world. and adopted the pussybow as a staple of her political image, it became a symbol of female power.

In Wisconsin, Cardi B. compared her own entertainment career and the criticism she received after her success to the political trajectory of the vice president, now that she will face former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

“Like Kamala Harris, I was an underdog. I was undervalued, my success was downplayed, and I was never given credit,” Cardi B. said on stage.

“Women have to work ten times harder and perform ten times better, and yet people still question us.
