Selena Gomez adds an unexpected accessory to her little black dress at the Los Angeles premiere of “Emilia Perez.

Over the past few months, Selena Gomez has been working tirelessly on the evolution of the little black dress. She has added one collection after another, from halter gowns to constructed minis, blazer dresses, and even a velvet Schiaparelli design (my personal favorite). After weeks of nonstop LBD wear, she seems to have run out of new iterations to try and has resorted to repeating outfits in subtle ways.

On October 21, at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest project, Emilia Perez, Gomez walked the carpet in an evolution of the noir gown she wore three weeks earlier. It is a long mermaid gown with a draped, off-the-shoulder neckline. Ellie Saab's creation was made of contrasting fabrics, adding dimension to the all-black look.

From there, Gomez (or rather her stylist, Erin Walsh) layered an unexpected element: black leather gloves. Against the gown's satin bodice and crepe skirt, this addition created a playful mix of textures that elevated the simplest dress style ever and made it interesting.

As always, her beauty was a subtle mix of neutral colors that highlighted her natural features. The “Only Murderers in the Building” star wore a brown smokey eye and blush lip. Her freshly cut lob haircut was pulled back into a slicked-back bun

while revealing glittering diamond hoops.

The dress will no doubt be familiar to those who have followed her LBD style transition; on October 1, Gomez attended the New York Film Festival wearing another floor-length gown. The dress was custom-made by Vera Wong and featured a draped neckline, detached sleeves, and a huge bow that fastened the straps.

Gomez's fashion voyage seems to have brought her full circle.
