If you believe Google's top searches, many people think Venus and Serena Williams are twins.

Venus recently joked about this common mistake in an interview.

The tennis star was asked what she thinks about her future retirement and how she feels about it.

“As that moment approaches ......” Serena kind of ruined that for me. As soon as Serena retired, everyone thought I had retired."

She continued.

She went on to explain that people sometimes fail to distinguish between Venus and Serena's separate careers in tennis, “People even think they are twins. So even if you guys think that, we are two different people born on different days. Don't worry, you already know that.”

By the way, at 44, Venus is one year older than Selina. And while Serena retired in 2022, Venus is still active and playing tennis.

Venus explained how she thinks she might feel when the time comes to retire.

“I always thought that when I had to retire I would just cry. Because that's what it's all about.” It's the first thing I think about when I wake up, the first thing I think about when I go to bed. I dream about it, and that's all I do.”

She continued. I've given my all to this sport, so I'm not going to cry.”

She concluded, “I think I appreciate it more than anything. And sometimes you will want to threaten to come back."

She continued.
