Sweet surprise from King Charles, grandfather of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis

Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte may not currently be in Australia with their grandfather, King Charles, and grandmother-in-law, Queen Camilla, but an Aussie took time out to think about their children during the royal visit over the weekend. The King and Queen attended a service at St. Thomas Anglian Church in Sydney on October 20, and before leaving they were presented with a special souvenir for the Welsh children.

According to GB News, the King was presented with “a rugby ball, a cricket ball, and a fluffy koala toy, all presented to his grandchildren by Ellie Mantle, wife of Rector Michael Mantle.”

The gifts remind one of Prince William and Princess Kate's 2014 visit to Australia, when adorable 8-month-old Prince George received a stuffed wombat. Ironically, Prince William's childhood nickname was “Wombat.”

While stuffed koalas may not be a favorite for the 11-year-old, the pre-teen is a known rugby and cricket fan (as well as his father's beloved Aston Villa soccer team).

As for King Charles and Queen Camilla, they have been greeted by large crowds during their trip Down Under, despite a minor setback by Republican government leaders who refused to meet with the royal family. on October 21, the King was heckled in Parliament by Australian Senator Lydia Thorpe. She said, “You are not our king. 'You are not our king. Give us back our land. Give us back what you stole from us."

Other Australians seemed to give the King and Queen a warm welcome, and on Tuesday, October 22, thousands lined up at the Sydney Opera House to catch a glimpse of the royal couple. But while enjoying the sun and barbecue in Australia, the King said he would not be following in his son Prince Harry's surfing footsteps.

“If I were younger,” he told a confidant when asked if he would surf during the trip.
