King Charles is recruiting for a dangerous new position in the British Royal Family.
King Charles is currently visiting Australia and Samoa with his wife, Queen Camilla. But back in the UK, Prince Charles is recruiting for an exciting new job that requires a vast array of skills and an element of risk.
An eye-catching job ad posted on the royal website reveals that the monarch is looking for an experienced multi-engine helicopter commander. The lucky applicant will be part of the King's Helicopter Flight (TKHF) team that transports members of the Royal Family throughout the UK.
Once hired for this role, they will work as a pilot-in-command or co-pilot when transporting the royal family to official events.
The role comes with a number of attractive benefits, including “20% off at the Royal Collection Trust Shop, free admission to all facilities, plus many more exclusive employee discounts.”
Not surprisingly, the person filling this position must have very specific skills. In addition, transporting members of the British Royal Family will likely involve stringent security measures.
King Charles' tour of Australia has been tumultuous to say the least. The King met an alpaca outside the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla also took a “rest day” which was especially important since the King is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Regarding Prince Charles and Camilla's decision to take a rest day during their tour, Hello! wrote, “Their Majesties have decided to take a ‘rest day’ during their high-profile six-day trip. The “rest day” is supposedly to get accustomed to the time difference and recharge their batteries ahead of their hectic schedule.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson also referred to the King and Queen's schedule in a press release. They explained, “As with any visit, we had to consider how best to ensure that His Majesty the King's energy was kept in tip-top shape.”
