Sarah Jessica Parker trades designer bags for four layers of Thanksgiving pie on the set of “And Then There Was My Father”
Another day, another truly insane Sarah Jessica Parker and her look as it were. The evolution of Carrie Bradshaw's style in the Sex and the City spin-off series has been a bit controversial to say the least. Gone are the lived-in white tank tops and messy curls of her youth. In their place are sophisticated blowouts and eccentric monochromatic looks, and while the fashions in And Just Like That may not be to everyone's taste, seeing these exciting outfits peeping in from the set has given me a shape and purpose in life It gave me a shape and purpose in life.
Styled by costume designer Molly Rogers for the upcoming third season, Parker wore a pink sequin knit with Molly Goddard's voluminous red tulle skirt on October 23. This color-coordinated look was layered under a red and brown plaid coat and topped with a crushed pink velvet fascinator. Then there were the pink satin ankle-strap peep-toe sandals and, best of all, the four-tiered pie basket. No ensemble more loudly proclaimed, “Thanksgiving came early, ladies.”
Later in the same episode, Parker ditched the pie in favor of a vintage “mock croc” handbag from Vivienne Westwood's Spring 2013 “Climate Revolution” collection and Alexei Navalny's memoir, Patriot It seems. While not light reading by any means, this would not be the first time Bradshaw's political beliefs have been explored. Last month, Parker was spotted on set wearing a teal sweater and tights paired with a paint-splattered tote bag from The States Project, a nonprofit dedicated to helping state legislatures.
It was difficult to locate the exact coat and sweater that Parker is pictured wearing in the photo, but similar ones in color and pattern can be found at Bayan and Comme des Garcons Play.
Needless to say, we look forward to seeing what Carrie Bradshaw was actually doing with the pie. There is no official release date for the third season yet, but it is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
