Taylor Swift and Travis Kels may be preparing to enter the engagement period, according to some sources close to the pair.

According to Page Six, “The countdown to engagement has begun,” says a source close to the couple, who have been dating for just over a year (anonymously, of course).

As for why the countdown has begun, at least on Swift's part, it seems to come down to a feeling.

“What people don't really understand, and it's intentional, is how brave Taylor is,” a source allegedly “close to Swift” told Page Six.

While “international pop star/billionaire/unapologetic catgirl” may not seem like a job that requires a quiet reserve of courage, it is in fact one of a kind. In addition to the usual concerns that someone as famous as Taylor Swift has to deal with (crowd control, rabid fans, stalkers-all the classics), the “Fortnite” singer was forced to cancel three concerts in Austria in August as a terrorist plot and several high-profile, fear-inducing moments in the last year alone.

Even though Swift is brave enough to be on her own, sources say that being with Kels brings the singer “a tremendous sense of peace.”

“Just his physical presence. She knows he will do anything for her, and she feels physically protected by him. It's a relatively new relationship for her,” the source said.

And just for the record, sources say that Kerche's protective energy extends to Swift's emotional well-being as well.

“Travis is her protector in every sense of the word. He's going to make sure she's physically safe and emotionally safe - he's not going to do anything careless or reckless to her."

Perhaps that is why Swift feels ready to take the next step with Kels.

“Everyone is fascinated by Travis and Taylor,” a second industry insider told Page Six on the subject of Taylor and Travis' engagement. 'They are obsessed with the possibility of a wedding. They are unbeatable together.”

Even Major League Baseball has gone public with their engagement. Earlier this month, Swift and Travis attended the first game of the American League Championship Series in New York City, to the delight of, well, everyone, especially the person in charge of the official MLB TikTok account, who *casually* called Kelce Swift's “future husband” to all the account followers He *casually* called him “future husband.

So if this alleged countdown is indeed taking place, expect MLB TikTok to become a fan account for Tavis the moment Swift and Kels' engagement is solidified.
