Queen Camilla breaks down in tears when Prince Charles mentions that he is undergoing cancer treatment.
King Charles and Queen Kamila ended their 10-day royal tour of Australia and Samoa with an emotional goodbye.
The King and Queen ended their tour with a traditional aba ceremony in the village of Siumu, the Daily Mail reported. Prince Charles was awarded the honorary title of Toaiga o Tumua and seemed genuinely touched by the warm welcome he received during the tour.
“I will always remain dedicated to this part of the world and hope to live long enough to return and see you all again,” King Charles told the crowd. 'We promise to bring back some very special memories of our time here. Thank you for this wonderful gift.”
Some media noted that Queen Camilla was photographed laughing and crying during the event, while others noted how emotional both the King and Queen were.
Meanwhile, the village chief told Charles (via the Daily Mail), “Your dad, Prince Philip, was here, as were your brothers. Thank you for making time for us. Your royal visit has cheered up our home."
The village mayor also told Charles, ”I am so happy to see you here.
King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis to the world in February. Since then, reports have indicated that the King's cancer treatment is progressing well.
King Charles has visited Australia and Samoa with two doctors as he has been on an international royal tour while undergoing treatment for cancer.
During the farewell ceremony, King Charles told attendees (via GB News), “We are so impressed with the beautiful way all the villages decorate the roadsides.” That is something very special about Samoa.
The Daily Mail reported that King Charles and Queen Camilla's royal tour was a great success. It reported that “[Prince Charles'] tour of Australia and Samoa, considered by Buckingham Palace to be the great test of his reign, exceeded all expectations.”
The magazine also noted that the Queen has been an important source of support for the King after his cancer diagnosis. At Queen Camilla's urging, the King is taking some downtime to read a “wonderful” new book,” the Daily Mail reported. The King feels closer to his wife than ever. The couple are a “remarkable unit” and the queen is keeping it “real” for the king, courtiers say.
