Why do you recommend that celebrities wear pink to the polls?

When celebrities like Jessica Alba, Alicia Keys, America Ferrera, and Kristen Bell fill Instagram with bright pink blazers and wide pants, it's not just a fall suit trend. It's a call to action. Specifically, it's a call to get out and vote for women in 2024.

The bright fuchsia workwear seen on Instagram this month by everyone from Megan Rapinoe to Ariana DeBose comes courtesy of Argento and its third annual campaign, #VotingSuitsYou. The campaign, which first rolled out during the 2020 presidential election, asks women of all backgrounds to dress in pink and post their voting plans on their feeds, although Argent designed pink blazers, pants, tops, and T-shirts for the occasion, label states that anyone is welcome to wear pink and participate. A portion of the proceeds from Argent's official collection will be donated to When We All Vote, a nonpartisan civic action nonprofit founded by Michelle Obama.

2024 is a critical year for women, with candidates in key races that can shape the future of issues such as reproductive rights, childcare, and climate change on the ballot. Sari Christeson, founder and CEO of Argent, says, “Our politics feel intentionally marginalized. We're trying to figure out how to make [voting] engaging."

”We're trying to figure out how to make [voting] engaging.

Getting influential women (and men, too--Argent also sells unisex suits) to wear pink is the Argent way to bring joy to an election-heavy year.

“We love the idea of women looking loud, bold, ambitious, and confident in all the things they think they have been shunned for,” says Christeson. The brand's way of bringing this color back is by combining traditional menswear suits with bright, punchy pink.

“Pink symbolizes everything we think is exactly right for women, especially the energy and power of the present moment.”

“By working with brands like Argento on the #VotingSuitsYou campaign, we are more than happy to dye our timeline pink and encourage women to embrace their political power and get ready to suit up, register, and vote. I can think of no better way to show our collective power,” Beth Link, executive director of When We All Vote, said in a statement.

Jessica Alba wore a pink blouse, pink blazer, pink pants, and a Vote nameplate necklace from Mad Fine Jewelry to participate in Argent's #VotingSuitsYou campaign. She sees voting as a way to protect the future of her children and all children. 'This shade of Argent pink symbolizes energy, confidence, and boldness to me. 'This shade of pink symbolizes energy, confidence, and boldness to me.

“Now, more than ever, it's time to get involved, get involved, and don't back down,” says Christeson. 'The whole point of this campaign is how to give people a clear way to get involved.' She has a point: no one can miss the bright pink blazer on the feed or in line to vote.
