Gigi Hadid embodied fall coziness in not one, but three colorful sweaters from her luxury knitwear line Guest in Residence. Accompanied by a friend and photographer, supermodel Gigi strolled through New York City on October 14, wrapped in an oversized beige and poppy red striped cashmere rugby shirt and a preppy white contrast color. Wrapped around her waist was a red and plum striped cashmere sweater in a slightly fitted silhouette. As a final touch, a cream-colored crew neck with red stitching was draped over the shoulders in a country club style. The result was a clever clash of patterns. By combining two striped sweaters that shared at least one primary color and adding a neutral-colored textured ribbed knit for balance, Hadid proved that it is possible to mix prints without looking cartoonish.

All three pieces were from the cashmere brand's fall collection, and this seemingly casual outing felt more like a walking advertisement than a truly candid moment. However, it did succeed in inspiring me to stop by the actual Guest-in-Residence store in NoHo before the temperature drops any further. Not to mention the teddy bear brown cardigan she wore to the launch party for the Guest in Residence and Caviar Caspia collaboration last month.

Hadid paired a trio of colorful sweaters with straight-leg jeans and a blue leather belt. Her blonde bobbed hair was paired with a reversible orange beanie from Guest in Residence and gold rimmed oval sunglasses. Her nails were done in a naked manicure throughout Fashion Month, but she wore gold jewelry that more than made up for it. Her shoes, a pair of pink plaid Vans Old School sneakers, evoked fall nostalgia; nothing screams back-to-school shopping more loudly than a fresh set of Vans. Her exact pair is sold out except for a few sizes still available on resale sites, but personally, I prefer this pink suede Vans Sport Low style anyway.

The ensemble seemed to be inspired by the youthful styling of her daughter Kai Malik, who recently celebrated her fourth birthday; on September 20, Hadid posted a photo on Instagram showing bright colors, playful prints, trucker hats, beanies, and guest She revealed her mom style with plenty of in-residence product placement. It's only fitting that the cashmere brand should introduce kids' sizes to its lineup. Wouldn't it be cute if Gigi and Kai got matching?
