Princess Kate once described becoming a member of the Royal Family as “a daunting prospect.
Planning a normal wedding, let alone a royal one, can be stressful for anyone, but when Kate Middleton announced her engagement to Prince William in November 2010, she seemed poised and ready to go. This is evidenced by the resurfaced clips of their engagement interview shared on TikTok.
The future Princess of Wales, then 28, looked regal in a blue Issa wrap dress and flouncy blowout, but when asked by the press what she thought about marrying into the royal family, Middleton was refreshingly honest.
“It is a very daunting prospect, but hopefully I will take it in my stride and William is a great teacher so I hope he can help me along the way,” she told the room of reporters as the camera flashes went off.
“I am really looking forward to spending time with William,” the bride-to-be added, to which the prince replied, “She is very flattering.”
Princess Kate found being part of the royal family “daunting,” but over the years she became accustomed to her royal role.
In one scene, a commentator says, “I think Kate Middleton will be the Princess of the Nation,” as footage of her riding in a carriage at King Charles' coronation plays.
In another TikTok scene, which has been viewed over 117,000 times, a member of the public says to Princess Kate, “You will be a wonderful princess.”
The video ends with the Princess of Wales receiving a standing ovation at the 2024 men's Wimbledon final.
“She not only learned how to be a princess, she did it,” one fan comments on the video, while another says, “Princess Catherine is an extraordinary person. She was truly born for this role. Princess Diana would have adored her.”
Announcing on September 9 that she had finished chemotherapy, Princess of Wales has gradually returned to her duties over the past month as she recovers from her battle with cancer. She made a surprise appearance on October 10 to meet family members and first responders affected by the stabbing in Southport, England, her first official event since chemotherapy.
Aside from the Royal Carols, nothing is set on the Princess of Wales' official calendar: nothing is officially scheduled except for the “Together at Christmas” concert in December, the November “Remembrance Day” event and an upcoming state visit are two times when fans might see the princess.
