Reformation's first jewelry collection is designed by Clare Waight Keller
When you think of 1920s fashion, you think of flapper dresses and aloof Hemingway heroines; what about style 100 years later?
Reformation and Clare Waight Keller have teamed up for the brand's first jewelry collection and say that the look of the 2020s need not be so far removed from what came before. In fact, in a lineup of delicate gold necklaces, chunky cuff bracelets, and chandelier earrings, they say the icons of the flapper era look great in a modern wardrobe.
Keller brings the sensibility of late nights spent in bustling '20s salons to the 10-piece lineup now available for pre-order at Reformation. Dree Hemingway models Ref's off-the-shoulder velvet gowns and drop-waist gold dresses, and the recycled gold and silver pieces look like heirlooms unearthed from a small vintage store in Paris, with deadstock jade and pearls added The collection is available online for $178 (of course, you can buy it online for $178). (Of course, you can also buy them online for $178 to $898.) Following this fall's Horse Girl-approved designs by Kacey Musgraves and a walking sneaker collaboration with Hoka, Reformation has produced its most prestigious collaboration to date.
The designer, who previously led Givenchy and now has a touch of Uniqlo daywear, says he thought a lot about proportions and silhouettes to create a romantic, vintage-inspired jewelry collection. I thought a lot about what styles I would pair with tuxedo jackets and strapless dresses,” she says. Each piece is proportioned to the look, but I also like the mix-and-match approach of this collection,” Keller explains. For example, the dramatic chandelier flower earrings and delicate chain pendants are a great contrast to the column dress”
.
Reformation's debut jewelry, inspired in part by Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, is also an expression of Keller's inimitable personal style. She likes to layer items of varying weights, including chains, bangle bracelets, and ultra-fine, delicate pieces. Jewelry is very personal,” she says. I like to wear a mix of chunky and delicate pieces, and you can see the diversity of styles throughout the collection."
[12These pieces have the ease of wear that characterizes Reformation, but there are hints of the Parisian night sky in the semi-precious stones and shiny metallics. Pair a pair of Hemingway “” earrings or a “” Gertrude “” cuff with a fabulous party dress, and you may be ready for an evening worth writing about.
