Kylie Jenner, on the other hand, typically dresses from head to toe in the products of the business ventures that have given her billionaire status: Khy and Kylie Cosmetics.

Selena Gomez only recently changed her “m” to a “b,” but in that short time her personal style has changed rapidly. For years, Gomez favored bold jewel tones, 3D florals, and sequins. Now, she is going for a more sophisticated businesswoman look with a simple black suit, a closetful of LBDs, and a $1,890 Saint Laurent bag.

On October 16, the Rare Beauty founder ventured out to New York and was immediately greeted by a large crowd of fans and paparazzi. She was dressed up as usual, wearing a mash-up of black basics that had been upgraded. Gomez began with the business mogul's signature two-piece pantsuit, paired with a rosette-topped shirred blouse. (The top may have been a reference to the Rodarte gown she wore earlier on Emilia Perez's press tour)

The appliqué eliminated the need for a statement necklace, so Gomez accessorized a few inches south. A black leather belt with a brushed gold buckle. Pointed-toe pumps and sparkling diamond earrings were the only accessories to follow, as was the trusty Saint Laurent bag.

Saint Laurent's design is classic black leather with a gold YSL logo on the front. The bag has been Gomez's top choice of accessory for the past few weeks, usually paired with wide pants, a statement belt, and a black blouse.
