Prince Harry's Surfing Prowess Is Fan Favorite: 'In Season of Joy'
Call me Hang Ten Harry.
The Duke of Sussex has been enjoying life in California lately, and in a new video released on Instagram by surfing legend Raimana Van Bustler, the prince is making the most of his time on the West Coast (and apparently, he's a good wave rider).
In the video, Prince Harry shows off his surfing skills in an artificial pool while Van Bastler cheers him on during a visit to California's Kelly Slater Surf Ranch. I still call him Prince Harry in Tahiti, but at the Surf Ranch it's 'My Brother' It was an honor to surf with me and @kellyslater @michaelanders_ at kswaveco,” the surf pro captioned Reel.
According to Surf Ranch, the company's “technology creates the longest, open-barrel, high-performance man-made waves in the world,” and Prince Harry seemed to have no trouble surfing them.
“Yeah! I love my brother! Van Bastler exclaimed as the Duke glided through the waves.
Surfers and royal fans alike couldn't get enough of Harry's impressive video. One fan wrote, “Tube stance shockingly good yea prince,” while another Instagram user commented, “That's sick ᾥᾥ🤙🏽 and he got a barrel later ᾥ.”
One fan even declared Harry's surfing “the best sporting achievement the royal family has ever had!” He even declared.
Another commented, “This is truly his and Meghan's ‘season of joy’ and I'm glad he's living his best life,” while another said, “This is the man who is supposedly begging to go back to cold rainy England and live in a shoe box.”
This is not the first time Harry has ridden the waves; he has surfed with his brother, Prince William, and in 2012 he was photographed enjoying a day on his board in Cornwall, England (via the Telegraph).
The Duke of Sussex's surfing expedition follows a busy month for the prince, who has traveled from New York to London and southern Africa to support causes such as climate change, online bullying, and youth empowerment.
As for life in the U.S., California seems like a good fit for Harry.
