Prince William reveals Kate Middleton's surprising favorite dessert.

The recent release of Queen Camilla's son's book, Cooking and The Crown, has created a bit of a buzz about the Royal Family's favorite foods. Queen Camilla is a fan of roast chicken, while Prince Charles loves to pick mushrooms.

Prince William chatted with chef Darren Watson about his favorite sweets while touring the student and staff cafe at Duchy College in Cornwall, England, on October 17, identifying his wife's favorite dessert in the process.

Hello! reports that the chef told William that he had researched the Royal Family's favorite desserts and presented the prince with a chocolate biscuit cake, one of the desserts included in the 2011 royal wedding cake layer.

“Thank you, you are very kind, I will take anything sweet, I love anything sweet, even chocolate,” the Prince told Watson. When William told him that the chef had found out that Princess Kate's favorite dessert was sticky toffee pudding, the royal replied, “Very good,” for confirmation.

It is a traditional English dessert of sponge cake with dates and toffee sauce, often topped with vanilla ice cream. It is not very common in the U.S., but if you want to try it yourself, the BBC has a recipe for the “ultimate” version of Kate's favorite dessert.

Speaking of other royal family members, Queen Elizabeth is said to enjoy the same cookie cake as her grandchildren, and per Tom Parker Bowles, Prince Charles' stepson, is serious about organic produce (not surprisingly).

Describing his pantry as “the seasonal bounty of the royal grounds,” Parker Bowles told the Daily Mail that common items in his mother and stepfather's kitchen include “gibier, beef and lamb,” and fresh produce like “peas, strawberries, raspberries and chard” He said they include.

Regarding Prince William's visit to Cornwall, he also revealed another fun fact about his life with Kate, sharing that his dog Aura sleeps with him in bed at night. Apparently, he's been full of sweet talk lately.
