Dixie D'Amelio's appearance at the Giorgio Armani show restores faith in going-out clothes.

Travel was the theme of Giorgio Armani's Spring 2025 collection, presented at a special runway show in Manhattan on October 17. Adorned with bellhops carrying luggage, 1930s-inspired pantsuits, and shimmering soft dresses, the opening look was like a black-and-white movie star packing for an overnight sleeper train trip through Europe or his first visit to the Empire State: ward With robes, the show notes and styling emphasized the adventures of international jet-setters. When singer and influencer Dixie D'Amelio appeared on the front row, I thought of another journey that Armani Woman would dress for.

A night in Manhattan (or Brooklyn, or Queens) never goes according to plan. A coffee shop with a secret door leading to a speakeasy with a live jazz band, or an invitation to a penthouse party filled with glittering champagne flutes and chance encounters. It's edgy without being over-the-top and blends in with any dress code. Cody Littke's exclusive D'Amelio look for Marie Claire was just that.

The “Be Happy” singer updated her all-black New York uniform with a bralette top and high-waisted jogger pants. For the top, she reworked the trendy bolero into a fuzzy, strong-shouldered design, and paired the bottom with a pair of pointed-toe pumps.

D'Amelio also wore oversized square gold earrings, a trend in '80s jewelry that is making a comeback this fall. With her long bob slicked back and dressed in Armani Beauty with blurred eyeliner and a dusky pink lip, she looked like an ingénue in the front row, but with some surprise plans up her textured sleeve.

When D'Amelio left her hotel suite and arrived at Armani's Park Avenue Armory show in a private car, her evening took a uniquely New York turn. She was joined by stars like Brie Larson and Lily Reinhart at café-style tables along the custom-built runway to view more than 90 new men's and women's collections, including those accessorized with tiny teacup poodles. [By the end of the runway, she was whisked away to an intimate after-party where Chaka Khan and James Blake were on the same stage. It was a unique New York night, as only a fashion legend like Mr. Armani could pull off. D'Amelio's attire was challenging and good.
