Angelina Jolie shows off her sleek physique in an elevated all-black suit.
Angelina Jolie continues to elevate her timeless all-black suit.
When she attended the Maria Headline Gala at the 68th BFI London Film Festival on Friday, October 18 at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the actress and philanthropist wore a monochrome black suit that casually showed off her derriere to She upped the ante.
Dolce & Gabbana's three-piece fit featured a black blazer over a partially unbuttoned waistcoat, adding feminine flare to an otherwise traditionally masculine look.
Jolie completed the red carpet look with black pants and square-toe heeled boots, again adding to Jolie's long history of testing outdated gender stereotypes through fashion.
The higher suit also revealed one of many tattoos, including Jolie's swallow tattoo, a tattoo honoring her children.

As Vogue notes, Jolie opted to add a little flair to her timeless fit with a pair of Buccellati gold statement earrings.
While Jolie is known for playing with so-called “menswear,” she is also the queen of feminine elegance, which the actress went all-in on while promoting her new film, Maria.
At a recent screening of the acclaimed biopic in New York, Jolie wore a vintage white gown, a Madame Grès maxi dress first created in 1956, covered in micro-pleats and featuring an asymmetrical bodice.
Jolie wore a similar old Hollywood glam look when she attended the 81st Venice International Film Festival this year. As she walked the red carpet, actress Jolie wore a beige chiffon strapless gown custom designed by designer Tamara Ralph. She then styled the elegant number with a faux fur stole and a 1972 “Rose Ouvrante” pin, part of Crow's impressive jewelry collection.
(Fun fact: Jolie wears it in the film as well.)
In a 2018 interview, Jolie discussed what femininity means to her and the different ways she plays with traditional gender roles, representation, and fashion.
“[Femininity] means so many different things,” she said at the time. 'There is no one version of femininity. It means different things in different times and places. Femininity can be a certain softness or gentleness, or it can be a woman marching and fighting for her rights and the rights of others.”
The actress continued, “There is nothing more attractive than someone who is completely herself without inhibitions, in any form. [We all know it when we see it. The beauty is the spirit, the women who cannot be anything other than true to themselves,” she added.
