Kendall Jenner's Schiaparelli Couture Dress Redefines Cutouts
Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner is pushing the limits of cutout gowns.
On Saturday, October 19, the famous Jenner attended the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Film Museum in Los Angeles, California, wearing a stunning all-black gown featuring intricate and bold cutouts.
The model walked the red carpet in a Schiaparelli Spring 2024 Couture Dress straight off the runway, perfectly paired with black Schiaparelli Bijoux Mules S heels.
Like her sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, who were also in attendance, Kendall, who dazzled in a vintage Mugler gown, was one of many stars who embodied Old Hollywood glamour through vintage and archival fashion items was.
Kendall's sister, Kim Kardashian, wore an archival look by Mugler from the 1998 Jeu de Paume collection styled by Dani Levy. The outfit featured a white playsuit, a radical, almost reality-defying nipped-in waist (much like the controversial 2024 Met Gala look), and structural accents on the hips.
To complete the vintage ensemble, Kardashian added a long white coat that sagged over her shoulders and fluttered behind her like a luxe, royal-inspired cape.
Not to be outdone by Kendall, Kendall's sister Kylie also made an appearance at the high-profile event, wearing a gown from Mugler's Spring 1998 collection; as Marie Claire previously reported, Kylie's stylist Alexandra and McKennaise Grandquist sought out past pieces that “fit Jenner's style right here and now.”
The skin-tight gown, which resembled a thong with a translucent top and pelvic cutout skirt showing, certainly spoke to Kylie's personal style.
Other Hollywood A-list stars in attendance included Ariana Grande, Kaia Gerber, Addison Ray, Rooney Mara, and Mindy Kaling.
Like many attendees, Grande walked the red carpet in a vintage strapless Balmain gown from the Maison's 1963 collection.
Kaling sparkled in a vintage Versace dress styled by Jenna Filingeri and jewelry by Effi, while Gerber opted for a vintage Givenchy Couture dress from Alexander McQueen's 1997 collection.
