Sofia Richie makes her postpartum red carpet debut in fire red Fendi
Sophia Richie Grainge is back on the red carpet.
The model made her postpartum red carpet debut on Saturday, October 19, when she attended the 4th Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Film Museum in Los Angeles, California.
For her postpartum return, Richie Grainge wore a red silk dress straight from Fendi's Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
According to Vogue magazine, artistic director Kim Jones drew inspiration from her predecessor, Karl Lagerfeld, and the Spring/Summer 2024 collection was “inspired by Lagerfeld's Spring 1999 show” and its “powerful practicality was derived from Roman women”. [It is certainly fitting that Richie Grange chose a fire-red Fendi gown for his first red carpet appearance since giving birth to his daughter, Eloise Samantha Grange, on May 20.“I had a great pregnancy until about 32 weeks,” she explained in a recent interview with Dr. Taiz Aliabadi and women's health advocate Mary Alice Haney on the “She MD” podcast, “and I woke up one morning” and told Aliabadi, “I'm really tired today! She continued, “I texted her, ‘I'm really tired today.’ [My back really hurts. My back hurts so much. And I thought it was going to happen again. I thought it was going to be like, 'I'm fine, but you can come in if you want me to see you,'” she continued. [But instead, she said. 'It's no big deal. ' Thank God, she said that."
[8At the hospital, Richie Grainge learned she was in active labor. After giving birth at 38 weeks gestation, Richie Grainge experienced severe swelling and was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia.
“The hardest thing I ever had to do was literally leave my daughter two days postpartum. My poor husband was like, 'Dr. A says it's not safe, we have to take her to the hospital. He said, 'It's not safe to stay home.' So we spent 24 hours in the hospital, and it was really, really, really hard.”
Richie Grainge was joined by Hollywood A-listers who went all in on the Old Hollywood glamour trend through vintage dresses and archival looks.
Kaia Gerber walked the red carpet in a vintage Givenchy couture dress, while Kim Kardashian and her sister Kylie Jenner wore throwback pieces by Mughray. Not to be outdone, Kendall Jenner pushed the cutout envelope in a Spring 2024 Schiaparelli couture gown, perfectly paired with black Schiaparelli bijoux mule S heels.
