Meghan Markle opens up about the “position” she doesn't want to be in as a mother.

Meghan Markle opened up about being a mother during her solo appearance at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Gala 2024 on October 5.

Held at the JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles, Meghan once again wore the Carolina Herrera red gown she wore to the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala. She removed the voluminous overskirt, instead highlighting the dress' thigh-high leg slits.

In a red carpet interview at the event, Meghan praised Children's Hospital Los Angeles, saying (via the Daily Mail), “Their work is like another world.”

The Duchess of Sussex also spoke candidly about her role as mother to Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

“I think as a mother, I don't want to be in a position where anyone has to go to these places, but if I had to, Children's Hospital Los Angeles would be the best place in the world,” she explained.

Princess Meghan continued, “And I have close friends who still have children there and close mom friends who have children there, having received treatment from high school to the present.”

The royal also highlighted the important work that medical facilities do on a regular basis. She said, “The amount of work we do for families who cannot afford this level of care is something that should never be overlooked.”

At the event, Meghan met with families who used services provided by Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

While speaking to one boy, the Duchess of Sussex said (via the Daily Mail), “It's definitely past his bedtime.” Princess Meghan also mentioned her own children, Archie and Lilibet, while speaking to the boy's parents.

“How old are they?” And. Princess Meghan reportedly asked. After hearing the answer, Meghan said, “Oh, they're really close to our 3- and 5-year-olds.”
