Why Princess Diana's sisters remain close to Prince Harry and Prince William

Both Prince Harry and Prince William are reportedly close to Princess Diana's family, including her sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes.

In August, Prince Harry returned to England for the funeral of his uncle, Sir Robert Fellowes, husband of Princess Diana's sister Jane. While there, Harry stayed with Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, at Althorpe House, the ancestral home of Princess Diana. And according to a new report in the Daily Mail, both Harry and William remain close to the Spencer family.

Despite the potential royal rift between Harry and William, “their mother's family continues to support them separately and quietly,” the magazine claims.

The magazine noted several recent events in which Princess Diana's relatives have shown their support for William and Harry: in September, they visited the Royal Air Force (RAF) College in Cranwell, England, where William earned his wings in 2008. Lady Sarah was also present for the Prince's return to RAF Cranwell.

In May, Prince Harry returned to the UK for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary celebrations. As reported by the Daily Mail, Harry attended the event with Lady Jane and Earl Spencer, and “as they entered, he was seen hugging and smiling with his aunt and uncle and sitting next to them.”

When Harry and William tied the knot in 2021 in honor of their late mother's 60th birthday, Diana's brother was also present. A new statue of Princess Diana was unveiled in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace.

“The aunts were thrilled to see their nephews, who are warriors, and greeted them with affectionate kisses and hugs on the cheek,” reported the Daily Mail.

“Mrs. Sarah hugged Harry on the shoulder, a smile on her face, and appeared to whisper something in his ear.

Regardless of what is going on between Prince William, Prince Harry, and the royal family, Princess Diana's siblings seem infinitely more supportive of their royal brother.
