Prince Charles “reluctantly” agrees to Queen Camilla's new rules while “pausing” his cancer treatment.

King Charles has resisted his wife's rule amid news that he will take a break from cancer treatment in October. According to new reports, despite the monarch's reservations, he has apparently relented with “some reluctance” and agreed to follow Queen Camilla's advice.

According to one source speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the king was forced to have lunch every day; the 75-year-old royal reportedly did not always eat lunch, as he was too busy to stop and eat. However, “at the behest of his wife, entourage, and doctors, he was forced to eat during the day to maintain his strength,” the magazine reported.

A source told the Mail on Sunday, “He is now eating avocados at lunchtime to maintain his fitness. 'He now eats half an avocado to energize him for the day. This is especially important if you are ill.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February 2024. It was later reported that Queen Camilla did not want Prince Charles to share his cancer diagnosis with the public, but was “overruled.”

Queen Camilla's son, Tom Parker Bowles, recently shared an update on his father-in-law's health. While promoting his new book, “Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to Charles III,” Parker Bowles explained that Charles' “doctors say his treatment is going well” (Express (via).

Parker Bowles also revealed that while her husband is undergoing cancer treatment, his mother, Queen Camilla, is staying as strong as she can. 'My mother is tough,' he said.”

Charles is said to eat only half an avocado at lunchtime, but the King is a big foodie. Parker Bowles, writing in the Daily Mail, said of his father-in-law, “No one knows more about food and farming than the King, from the finest British cheeses to rare breeds of sheep and cattle, to traditional varieties of plums, apples, and pears.”

Parker's father-in-law is a great lover of food.

Parker Bowles also revealed that Prince Charles tries to eat as much fresh food as possible every day. Parker Bowles wrote, “Like monarchs before him, his kitchen is filled with the seasonal bounty of the royal palace and gardens, from game, beef, and lamb to peas, strawberries, raspberries, and chard.” It is a tradition that has been handed down through the ages, along with the importance of tea at state dinners and as a mid-afternoon meal.”
