Pamela Anderson Thinks She Was “Depressed for Decades” After “Baywatch” Ended

Pamela Anderson is everywhere these days, but it turns out there was a time when she questioned the trajectory of her career after the end of her '90s hit “Baywatch. was “both a blessing and a curse.” [I feel like I went from Baywatch to Broadway. I don't know what happened in between, and everything is a blur,” Anderson said at the event. I think I've had depression for a couple of decades.”

The TV star and Playboy model has been relatively invisible since she left “Baywatch” in 1997, but has recently written a best-selling memoir, from ads for Smashbox Cosmetics to the new film “Naked Gun.” She has appeared in everything from Smashbox Cosmetics advertisements to the new film Naked Gun, and is enjoying a major career renaissance. The Canadian native will release her cookbook, I Love You: Recipes from the Heart, on October 15.

“I always knew I could do more,” Anderson says.

“It's great to be a part of pop culture, but it's both a blessing and a curse.

The author of Love, Pamela attended the premiere of her latest film, The Last Showgirl, at the Zurich Film Festival, where she also received the Golden Eye Award for her career. The film's director, Gia Coppola, told WWD that Anderson is “a very amazing and beautiful person inside and out. And after watching her documentary, I was convinced that she was the only person who could play this character.”

The actress, who made a lot of headlines last year when she went makeup-free at fashion events and on magazine covers, recently told Glamour magazine that she is “at a crossroads in her 50s.”

“I'm not against makeup, but I feel like I looked better in my 20s than I do now.

About the time she wore the iconic red dress in “Baywatch,” she mused, “It took me a long time, but I'm here now. It took a long time, but here I am.”
