Selena Gomez is no fashion girl. She always looks chic and stylish, but she is not subject to the latest fads in the ever-changing fashion trend cycle. She wears classic pieces (most recently an iteration of the little black dress) and styles them in her own way. Today, however, she reaches for unusual and trendy details.

In the early hours of October 8, the “Only Murderers in the Building” star visited New York City for a fan meeting with her cosmetics company, Rare Beauty. She was not in her usual LBD, but in a stylish workwear-inspired look. Styled by Erin Walsh, the base of her outfit was a simple and timeless black Khaite bodysuit with wide ivory pants.

The accessories, however, were where Gomez mixed it up. Pointed-toe black pumps and a Saint Laurent mini bag, a recent favorite of hers.

Then Gomez introduced a bit of metallic sparkle to her professional “fit” with a leather belt covered in giant silver bubble studs. Designed by Khaite, a luxury brand beloved by editors, the $580 belt was at the top of every fashion editor's wish list for months. Coincidentally, the same design is called the “Benny Studded Belt,” which could be taken as a casual tribute to boyfriend Benny Blanco.

It may not be Selena Gomez's usual little black dress, but the outfit is certainly worth repeating. Perhaps it is also the hard launch of her new signature look.
