Ciara has revealed how she knew her husband Russell Wilson was “the one.”

“You know when you know,” said the singer during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. 'From day one, we sat and talked. It's so funny because we always laugh about when we first met. We talked so long and had so much fun and had such great conversations that we forgot to eat."

When Clarkson said that this was impossible because she never forgets to eat, Ciara replied, “I never forget to eat either!”

Clarkson responded, “I've never forgotten to eat!

The “One, Two, Step” singer continued, “We both did the same thing after we first met. He told his friend in the elevator, 'She's the one,' and I called my best friend [Yolonda Frederick]. She's my matron, she's been my makeup artist for 24 years, she's my best friend.

Ciara and Wilson met in 2015 and tied the knot the following year; they had their first child, a girl, Sienna Princess Wilson, in 2017, and a boy, Win Harrison Wilson, in 2020.

They had their third child, a daughter, Amora Princess Wilson, in December 2023.

Ciara was already a mother before she met Wilson and had a son Future Zaheer with her ex-boyfriend Future in 2014, whom she discussed on a TV show with Clarkson.

Wilson “jumped right in and changed diapers” on baby Future, she said. She added, “He always jumps into that life from day one, going to teacher and parent conferences, getting into the details, making sure sports and gymnastics and everything is in order.
