Prince William talks about his children's screen time battles.
The dilemma over screen time is one that any parent can relate to, but it turns out that the royal family is facing a similar battle over what to watch. At a BAFTA event in London on Wednesday, October 9, Prince William, Prince George, Sher Princess Lott, and Prince Louis, and admitted that they face common parenting challenges.
While meeting with National Film and TV School student Eric Scott, who will be attending the upcoming Film Africa Festival, the prince said his children are “always wrestling with the remote control” because there are so many programs to choose from these days.
This is not the first time William has opened up about his children's relationship with screens; in January 2022, he broached the subject during another BAFTA visit, specifically mentioning Prince George's addiction to gaming.
“They are fascinated by it,” he said of children and technology, adding that he and Princess Kate were working on “regulating” screen time for children.
Charlotte (9) and Louis (6) were only 6 and 3, respectively, at the time, but William said his youngest children “are a little too little now, but they love movies.”
Speaking of screen time, fans got a rare glimpse inside the Welsh family's home during the Euro finals this summer. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis wore personalized England jerseys as they watched the final (lucky brother Prince George cheered on his team in person with his father).
George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis rarely made public appearances, except for occasional royal appearances at events like Trooping the Colour and King Charles' coronation. However, he played a starring role in his mother Kate's September 9 cancer update video, which offered a glimpse into the family's laid-back life in the countryside.
In the video, in which Princess Kate says she has finished chemotherapy, the family explores the woods with their dog Aura, takes a picnic, and runs along the sunny beach together.
Meanwhile, Kate, William, George, Charlotte, and Louis play cards with their grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton and his wife in the video, proving that sometimes time off-screen is more fun than anything else.
