Dua Lipa's favorite under $100 puma sneakers are back in trendy fall colors
When one celebrity endorses a trendy shoe for fall, others are sure to follow suit. At least that's the case with Dua Lipa and Emily Ratakowski's favorite Puma Speedcat sneaker. This best-selling silhouette is sure to be one of fall's most in-demand pairs, with two new colors available on Puma's website starting October 12.
The Puma Speed Cat Archive Shoe, now available, is a refined version of the racing-inspired sneaker from the 1990s. The new colors, a light blue called “Light Blue/Navy” and a light brown and white combination called “Haute Coffee/Frosted Ivory,” are inspired by Puma's archives.
The tonal browns incorporate several trends at once. Yes, racer silhouettes are everywhere right now, but toffee brown is one of the most in-demand colors for fall 2024. Revamped in luxe suede fabric (also a trend in the accessories world), the new Speedcats are modern while staying true to their roots.
The just-launched silhouette already has a cult following of celebrities. Gracie Abrams was spotted wearing the brown version while out for a walk with her new boyfriend Paul Mescall, proving that it's a style to watch now. The singer paired the Speecats with a tonal blue outfit consisting of a ribbed tank, navy blue pants, and a navy sweater.
The Speedcat was launched 25 years ago and was inspired by the fireproof shoes worn by Formula 1 drivers in the 80s and 90s. Now, with minor tweaks and coloring changes, it has become a must-buy for modern sneaker devotees on and off the track.
Like Vans sneakers before it, Puma has unexpectedly become a favorite sneaker brand of celebrities; the original red color, restocked in late August, has become a must-buy, and the brightly colored sneaker is one of the most dominant sneaker trends of the season proved to be one of the most dominant sneaker trends of the season. While Ripa and Ratajowski were early favorites, the Speedcats later caught the attention of Troy Sivan, who wore them on the Charli XCX Sweat Tour.
After a summer spent in Adidas sambas and gazelles, fashion insiders must be craving new styles to sink their feet into.
