Meghan Markle opened up about her experience with cyberbullying during a solo appearance in honor of International Girls Day. [On October 2, the Duchess of Sussex surprised the young girls with a visit to Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, where she helped with a new digital wellness program called Social Media U.

Now, in a recent Vanity Fair article published Friday, October 11, #HalfHerStory founder Larissa May gives royal fans a hint as to what Markle talked about during her solo visit.

“We did an activity where we talked through a lot of scenarios, and Meghan talked about being one of the most bullied people in the world,” May told the magazine at the time.

“We had the girls wave little emoji signs and talked about how each of these scenarios affected them emotionally,” she added.

As Marie Claire previously reported, Markle wore a J. Crew blue button-up shirt with a contrasting white collar from the brand's collaboration with French designer Marie Marot during her afternoon visit.

The Duchess of Sussex paired the chic top with wide-leg white pants cinched with a brown leather belt.

According to May, the purpose of the afternoon was to “create a space of vulnerability” that would allow teens to talk about certain potentially dangerous and harmful scenarios involving social media and technology use.

“We wanted to allow teens who participated in #HalfTheStory to have a voice in how we create the experience. Ultimately, we thought the best way to do that was to create a space of vulnerability”

“Stephanie and Megan and I talked about what it really means to grow up in this digital age,” May added.

This surprise visit is not the first time the Duchess of Sussex has opened up about her experience with cyberbullying; in August, in a rare joint interview with her husband Prince Harry, Markle spoke to CBS Sunday Morning about her desire as a mother to protect her children from online abuse about her desire as a mother to protect her children from online abuse.

“Our children are very young, they are 3 and 5 years old. They're great,” Markle told CBS Sunday Morning's Jane Pauley at the time. 'But what we want to do as parents is protect them. So we know there is a lot of work to be done there so we can see what is happening in the online space, we are just happy to be part of the change for the better."

“At this point, we've gotten to the point where almost every parent needs to be a first responder,” Prince Harry added.
