Read MorePrincess Kate's brother, James Middleton, has published his memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life. In the book, James recounts how his sisters Kate and Pippa Middleton helped him when he realized he was depressed. He also talks about meeting Queen Elizabeth and what it was like to spend Christmas with the Royal Family.
In a notable excerpt, James reveals how Prince William and Princess Kate avoided the paparazzi to attend their wedding to Alizee Thevenet. James and Thevenet were married on September 11, 2021, in the village of Borum-les-Mimosa in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France.
“But to our great surprise and delight, they [the Crown Prince and Princess] arrived earlier than planned on Friday evening to attend a pre-wedding meal,” James wrote in “Meet Ella” (via “Hello!” magazine).
He continued. 'We want them to be able to relax without fear of intrusion, which is challenging because the restaurants where we dine are quite exposed. But thanks in part to our low-key, last-minute plan, the paparazzi won't find us."
He continued.
James and Thevenet's wedding took place at the Municipal Hall in Borum le Mimosa, followed by a reception at Café Leube on the beach. William and Kate attended with their three children, Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6).
He continued, “Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, it was wonderful to finally celebrate with family and friends, but we were relaxed and knew the day would come eventually.”
In another excerpt from his book published in the Daily Mail, James also talks about how he learned of Kate's engagement to Prince William.
Recalling a visit to a local pub near his parents' home in Bucklebury, James writes: “I was in the middle of the night, and I was in the middle of the night, and I was in the middle of the night, and I was in the middle of the night. Lady Catherine whispers the news and says it will be public in the next day or so. Pippa and I want to be visibly excited, but we have to keep our emotions in check so that no one suspects."
Having to keep the exciting news to themselves, the three siblings quietly acknowledged to each other that they would ”always be there for each other, care for and support each other Each other. No matter how crazy things get,” James wrote.
