On October 4, while we were still in our pajamas, Katie Holmes went to Starbucks in New York City for an early morning coffee. The pants in question were covered in multi-colored patches, a mod podge look of endearing chaos.

Holmes paired the colorful denim with a semi-sheer black pintuck blouse, a white leather Bevza tote bag, a blue velvet Mary Jane from ViBi, and a baseball cap from Peterborough Diner in New Hampshire. Only Holmes (and perhaps Blake Lively) could have pulled off this look.

I had a hunch that these jeans were actually from the men's department, so I appreciated the tailoring. After some research, the exact jeans turned out to be the “Monkey Cisco Straight Leg” from the Japanese menswear line Kapital. The exact coloring is called “Crazy El Paso” and is a product of the brand's “Insane Remake” series. Unfortunately, they are sold out, except for a few stray pairs that can be found on resale sites like The RealReal and Grailed.

Her gorgeous black button-up is a favorite of Kate Holmes' official street style lineup. She wore the same style in late August. First spotted on August 20, the “Dawson's Creek” star wore a sheer top with black pants. She paired it with burgundy Mansur Gabriel ballet shoes, Vada sunglasses, and Kaite's favorite camel calfskin tote bag.

The following week, on August 29, she wore the shirt again with $1,050 Miu Miu buckled ballerina shoes, khaki tapered pants, oval tortoiseshell sunglasses, and the same Khaite tote bag.

While we have yet to find a perfect match for this shirt, this shirtdress from Trovata is remarkably similar, right down to the piping and bib pintuck detailing. You won't need crazy pants to complete this look.
