Kate Middleton's brother James, Prince and Princess of Wales, says he received a $1 million Hollywood Deal after reading at her wedding.

Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton, said he has received a hefty offer from Hollywood after reading a passage from the Bible at the royal wedding of the Crown Prince and Princess.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Middleton, who is busy promoting his forthcoming book “Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life,” revealed that he received a $1 million offer from an American production company shortly after his sister and her husband's wedding.

“They even ventured that members of my wider family might want to participate,” he told the publication at the time, but apparently nothing came of that substantial offer (at the moment, anyway).

Middleton's new book discusses his struggles with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts, and touches on the stress and anxiety he felt after Prince William and Princess Kate asked him to read a passage from the Bible at their wedding.

“The wedding was barely eight weeks away when Princess Catherine and Prince William were bubbling with excitement on the phone together and cheerfully asked me if I might be up for doing a reading on their big day at Westminster Abbey,” Middleton shared with the Daily Mail and published She wrote in an excerpt.

“A reading? I thought it was a joke. I thought of school and my faltering, incoherent efforts to read in front of the class. As a dyslexic, reading is my least favorite occupation. Seriously? ' I asked. 'Seriously,' they chorused. 'Oh no,' I thought! I thought.'

Despite her apprehension and disbelief, Middleton wrote that she agreed to do the reading, hiding her true feelings from her sister and soon-to-be husband.

“'No problem at all! . I lied briskly. If this is what my sister and William want, of course I will do my best not to disappoint them,” he explains. Then he adds, “This will be the only Bible reading in the service.”

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Middleton claimed, “Really, the preparation for Catherine's wedding was no different than Pippa's or any other friend's wedding.”

However, as the magazine noted, Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding was far from ordinary, involving “family, 1,900 guests, Her Majesty the Queen, the Archbishop, and several world leaders.”

Middleton admitted that the media attention surrounding his family was “shocking” after his sister began dating the future King of England in 2004, but credits his current brother-in-law for trying to protect everyone involved.

“William was a wonderful support to our family. He did everything he could to protect us from the intense interest in not only Lady Catherine but also her immediate family members. But at that time I was already in a vulnerable state of mind, and that put additional pressure on me."

Despite the overwhelming pressure associated with doing a reading during the royal wedding, Middleton said she knew it was important to say “yes” to her sister's request.

“I had never seen a royal wedding. 'I never had one in my lifetime. It wasn't a big one anyway. I didn't know the scale or the worldwide interest. I just felt privileged that my sister asked me to do the wedding and that it meant something to her. I wanted to make sure I did it.”
