It's finally cooler in the Northeast, and sweaters are in order. And Katie Holmes is the founder, president, and CEO of this cozy club.

Holmes is one of the most avid sweater wearers I have seen in all my years of watching fashion. The woman wears a big sweater, whether it's a “rich mom” brat green or a classic neutral, no matter how hot it is outside, if it's the last thing she does. She wore knits on the streets of New York in August (one of the hottest months of the year), so naturally she's in her element now that fall has officially arrived.

Yesterday, September 25, Holmes was photographed wearing the ultimate fall sweater and French girl staple. She chose an oversized navy crew neck with jumbo taupe stripes. Casual, stylish, and comfortable. Adding blueberry-colored velvet ballet flats and wide pants in a similar sandy hue, Starr kept with the color theme throughout the look.

The Mary Jane trend is another Holmes favorite, and Starr has worn the $150 Vivi style repeatedly throughout the summer. Earlier this month, for example, she leaned on the shoe's girly connotations, styling it with a ruffled Peter Pan blouse and barrel-leg jeans (another of her summer staples).

Holmes' look was capped off with a constructed tote bag from Bevza. Crafted from pure white leather, the minimalist design featured clean lines and gold hardware. The tote bag added a touch of sophistication to the star's super-chic look.

All in all, this is the perfect “first week of fall” outfit.
