Kylie Jenner Wears Her Face in a Beaded Strapless Balmain Gown at Paris Fashion Week

Kylie Jenner loves a self-referential look. Earlier this month, she posted a Kylie King-era teal hairdo and a “Lincoln Park After Dark”-style manicure on Instagram. But the mother of two completely outdid herself with her latest look at Paris Fashion Week.

On Friday (September 27), she was dressed in a custom-built strapless gown by Balmain. The hip-hugging bustier dress, which must have been made of thousands of beads, showed a close-up of Jenner in red lipstick, her brown eyes turned sideways, her cheekbones standing out against the black background.

Oddly enough, Jenner did not attend Balmain's show during Paris Fashion Week. (She did, however, upload an Instagram shot of herself with creative director Olivier Rousteing.

“Me by @olivier_rousteing @balmain,” Jenner captioned one of the photos on her Instagram story.

What I find particularly striking about Rustan's work is the clever placement of the image that wraps around the bodice to emphasize Jenner's curves. Rustan, of course, has been a longtime friend of the Kerr-Jenner family. He even collaborated with Jenner on a Kylie Cosmetics x Balmain capsule collection in 2019.

Jenner's absence from Balmain's Spring 2025 show is especially odd given that her likeness graced several pieces in the French fashion house's latest collection. One model walked the catwalk in a long-sleeved maxi dress version of Jenner's strapless custom gown. Two more models strutted down the runway in jackets and three-dimensional mini-dresses featuring her lips and red manicured fingertips.

“My enduring fascination with intricate embellishment is reflected in the intricate pearl patterns, paintings and portraits, and some of the striking photorealistic pieces require hundreds of thousands of beads and weeks of skilled embroidery,” Rousteing wrote in a press release writing about the collection.

Of course, that didn't stop Jenner from watching her supermodel sister, Kendall Jenner, stomp down the runway at Schiaparelli's Spring 2025 show the day before, where the 27-year-old wore an oversized keyhole cutout with She was dressed in a signature waist-skimming gown and accessorized her look with a ridiculously large 80s-inspired cuff bracelet.
