It's no coincidence that Gucci bags made an appearance in the street style of Fashion Week

While Fashion Week street style trends vary from city to city, fall bag trends are consistent no matter where you see them on the runway. Outside of the Spring 2025 show this month, there was an unspoken consensus among fashion insiders.

The classic Jackie 1961 silhouette was never in short supply in street style, and while Gucci bags from stars like Kendall Jenner leaned toward monogrammed and equestrian-inspired leathers, an even larger group was the Blondie's structured top handles and embossed, flipped-over monograms were the chosen look. In Milan, Solange carried an all-black mini-blondi paired with an oversized blazer and black naked dress. Around her on the front row were guests such as influencer Nala Smith and Bridgerton star Hannah Dodd, who carried red leather blondie bags in caramel and Ancora.

Outside of the VIP seating area, Fashion Week guests also got their hands on suede and monogram-print blondies in a variety of sizes, from mini to extra-large tote bags that could fit an iPhone. (The latter is ideal for holding a change of clothes.) The rich colors of hand-held styles sometimes juxtaposed utility barn jackets and country-side riding boots. They also sometimes complemented tailored suits and leather trench coats. While trendy (as many insiders loved to wear), they were also timeless and distinct (see the historic double-G monogram that has honored founder Guccio Gucci since the mid-1970s).

Some bags only have a lifespan during fashion weeks or only make sense in one aesthetic. Not so with this silhouette. Already, New Jeans vocalist Hanni proved that her Gucci bag is workweek material, styled with a loose-fitting black blazer, black pants, and loafer heels. Returning to Step & Repeat, Hannah Dodd's relaxed jeans and button-up outfit was further elevated with a caramel leather bag. Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry also modeled her eponymous monogrammed Gucci bag in Gucci's latest “We Will Always Have London” campaign. She wears a late-night wardrobe that ranges from a sheer LBD to an Ancora red leather jacket and loose pants.

Even as photographers pack up their bags and leave the Fashion Week street style circuit until next season, sightings of these Gucci bags won't disappear with them. A bag as versatile as this is bound to continue to be used in the closets of influential women: it's easy to imagine Taylor Swift wearing a Blondie with an all-Gucci outfit, or a night out with a black Gucci Blondie dangling from the arm of a Charli XCX! It's easy to imagine her wearing a black Gucci Blondie dangling from Charli XCX's arm on a night out. Blondies are definitely more fun.
