Queen Letizia adds a touch of dignity in a mango cut-and-sew
Queen Letitia of Spain has always made her own rules when it comes to royal style, and her recent visit to a Spanish high school was no exception. While other queens may be seen out and about in more traditional attire, the fashion-forward Queen Felipe VI opted for a rather edgy look for her September 18 outing.
Victoria Beckham's Spring 2024 collaboration with Mango made headlines, and it seems it extended to the royal family as well. Queen Letizia chose a blue pinstripe top from the now sold-out collection, but this striped shirt is anything but boring.
Her long-sleeved style is a deconstructed shirt with cutouts on both sides of the front, a modern twist on a workwear necessity.
While the cropped shirt pushes the boundaries of traditional workwear, the Queen of Spain, who met with students from Dr. Jose Zapatero Dominguez Secondary School, kept the bottom simple, opting for classic black pants.
She accessorized with an old favorite, diamond hagiography from Spanish jewelry brand Gold & Roses.
Letizia has been having problems with her feet and had recently moved away from stilettos. The queen owns a pair of brand-name Melanie shoes in both the black shade she wore on Wednesday and a summery white shade, and the low block-heeled sandals feature an ankle strap.
A former broadcast journalist, Letizia often puts her own spin on royal workwear, mixing high-street brands like Mango, H&M, and Zara with luxe designer pieces.
Known for occasionally showing off slits and low necklines, this royal knows when to tone it down and will wear a more traditional look (and a great hat) for events like King Charles' coronation. [We're on the edge of our seats wondering what this stylish queen will pull out of her wardrobe next.
