Queen Letizia shines in a belted denim dress with a pop of trendy cherry red
Queen Leticia of Spain attended the Retina Eco Awards in Madrid on Thursday, September 19, in a belted denim dress. Frankly, King Felipe's stylish wife is sure she can make a garbage bag look like couture. She has an uncanny talent for elevating casual, sometimes ultra-affordable items with thoughtful styling, like the cut-out shirt from MANGO the day before.
The sleeveless fit-and-flare denim midi dress with contrast stitching is from Carolina Herrera. My favorite detail is the belt that cinches the wide waist, but this dress also has pockets. Luckily, you can get the exact same dress she is wearing at Veronica Beard for about half the price.
The fashion-loving queen, who recently celebrated her 52nd birthday, accented her dark-wash denim ensemble with a punchy pop of color: red kitten heels by Magritte, the members' matching red leather clutch, and gold hoop earrings. Cherry red, which was featured on the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 runways by Tibi, Proenza Schouler, Stella McCartney, STAUD, and Ferragamo, took the limelight and is expected to remain a trend through the end of 2024. In fact, cherry red even spawned the adjacent fall 2024 trend color, mulled wine red.
Queen Letizia is not the only one who loves Carolina Herrera's sublime denim. At last year's Invictus Games, Meghan Markle wore a Carolina Herrera denim shirt dress with belt and collar to the sitting volleyball finals. The Duchess of Sussex also wore a short-sleeved belted denim dress from the brand to support Prince Harry at the Sentebale Polo Cup, held just months after their 2018 wedding. Perhaps Miss Markle and Queen Letizia are comparing notes.
