Taylor Swift Wears Iconic Gucci Items Worth $8,820 for Double Date in New York
The evolution of Taylor Swift's fashion has been a roller coaster, from the twirly heart-shaped sunglasses and bowler hat of 2012 to the harness-wearing backwards circa 2015. In recent years, she has settled into a more nuanced wardrobe of folkloric flannels, sequined mini dresses from Midnights, and Vivienne Westwood suits from The Tortured Poets Department. And this past weekend, Swift joined boyfriend and Chiefs football player Travis Kelce in a new luxurious off-duty look.
Styled by stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer, Swift wore a sleeveless two-tone tan mini dress. She paired this dress with black sandal block heels and a black leather chain shoulder bag. When it got chilly dining with Kels, Patrick, and Brittany Mahomes, she layered a Gant coffee brown trench coat.
The pop star popped her neutral palette with gold jewelry, including medium-sized hoop earrings surrounding Louis Vuitton's LV logo, several rings, bracelets on each wrist, and a retro bronze coin necklace from the 1970s Finishes.
It was a classy end to her multi-day, headline-making outfit. Last Thursday, she wore a denim Versace corset, matching jean shorts, and thigh-high red leather pin boots to the Chiefs' season opener at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. On Friday, Swift visited her favorite Brooklyn pizza spot, Lucali, in a pair of classic Louis Vuitton boxy fall boots, a translucent bodysuit with exposed bra, black hot shorts, and an oversized blazer.
The next day, Swift attended the wedding of model Karen Elson and Electric Lady Studios owner Lee Foster in a floral Zimmermann cutout dress, Christian Louboutin white strap heels, and her signature red lip. She attended. And yesterday, she wore a high-low look to the U.S. Open in a reformed cherry red and white gingham dress, a Gucci Jackie bag, and brown Gucci platform sandal heels.
Taylor Swift has a long history with Gucci. Over the past year, she has been photographed carrying her trusty red jackets around town in burgundy Gucci pumps, butter yellow Gucci mules, and in the music video for “Fortnight,” which debuted in April, she wore the same black Post Malone In January, Swift was applauded at the Golden Globe Awards for wearing a custom-made, glittery green Gucci gown.
Going back further, a real Swift historian would say that her iconic scarf (the one she sang about leaving at Maggie Guillenal's house on “All Too Well” in 2010) was a striped, navy and red wool accessory from Gucci. Whatever her style of the era, she has remained true to the label.
