Kate Winslet calls wrinkles “incredibly beautiful”

Kate Winslet has no time frame for beauty.

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet, 48, recently shared some wisdom with fans in her latest Harper's Bazaar UK video “Life Lessons” on YouTube.

“The first is that women become more beautiful as they age.

“Our faces become a part of ourselves, fit better with our frame, become more vital and have more history,” the Titanic star said.

She continued that she also finds beauty in wrinkles, telling the media, “What I find incredibly beautiful are the wrinkles around my eyes and the back of my hands, I think they are very beautiful.”

Winslet explained that as she has gotten older, she has also learned to be more lenient with herself.

“I think as we get older we learn to accept who we are and how our bodies and faces change,” she said.

Such was the case on the set of her new biopic Lee (2024), which tells the story of World War II photographer Lee Miller.15]

In a September 2024 cover interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, she wore a bikini on set and noted that a crew member “came up to me between takes and said, ‘You should sit up straighter’”

because her “bellybutton was visible”

She also noted that she was wearing a bikini on the set, and that she had to “sit up straighter.”

“So you can't see my girth. Winslet explained that Miller had a softer figure and said. 'It's on purpose, you know what I mean?'

As for self-care, the “Holiday” star said she “learned that it's important to take care of yourself from the inside out,” “from a mental health standpoint.”

However, with a busy schedule of family and filming, this is sometimes easier said than done.

“I simply can't accomplish all of that,” she said, noting that while she tries to “put something of myself first,” it is “very, very difficult” for many women.

As for fashion, Winslet said she looks to past looks for inspiration.

“I find myself going back to something I had decades ago and really appreciating how it looks now,” she said, adding that comfort is key.

“The more relaxed and comfortable you feel, the more confident you feel.
