Some fashion people are new to Tory Burch; Antonia Gentry, star of Netflix's hit drama “Ginny & Georgia,” is loyal to the brand.

We're now living at the height of Tory Sains, which began experimenting with more adventurous layering techniques and silhouettes around the Spring 2022 collection, turning the logo on its best-selling flat shoes into hardware studs and shoe earrings. But Gentry had been at Burch's beck and call since she was a teenager in Atlanta, coveting anything with the designer's tag on it. Then she got a break in streaming and stopped wishing for clothes. She was then invited to join Elizabeth Olsen and Joey King on the label's front row for Spring 2025.

“At the first press for Ginny & Georgia Season 1, I was sent a Tory Burch outfit. I remember being in high school and longing to wear Tory Burch.” It was a really cool moment to experience all the cool girls wearing Tory Burch and all the vacationers and go-getters."

With such a bond, Gentry of course took time out from filming to attend Tory Burch's latest New York Fashion Week runway. She and stylist Thomas Carter Phillips (the same fashion mastermind behind Megan Fahey's recent Victoria Beckham lace-naked dress) dressed in matching sets in white that match Burch's new design era. Tory Burch, whom Gentry fell in love with in high school, might have cut structured jackets out of cotton poplin or checked wool. Today's Tory Burch has crochet-like knits with high, stiff collars and fluted sleeves.

Gentry and Carter Phillips added oversized pink sunglasses and Burch's viral pierced heels. And they pushed the actress's skirt in a more “her-like” direction. I love it,” she says, ‘because it shows off my 5'5’ legs in the best way. 'It was very chic and cool to wear.'

Gentry thought of the Tory Burch moment as a package, something that her hair and makeup would come together to make the runway items pop even more. She says, “The outfit was very structured and made a statement in itself, so to juxtapose it with the structure of the jacket, I went with a soft textured updo with pieces framing the face.” Marty Harper, who does my hair, is so intuitive and talented, and I always trust his thought process in all of my looks.” With the hairstyles and the bold lipstick, I felt like an Old Hollywood kind of glamour.”

Gentry was just as excited to get ready for the afternoon as he was to see the collection on the runway that evening. The adage that the journey is more meaningful than the destination applies to Fashion Week as well.

“I love the process of transformation. I've been so busy filming “Ginny & Georgia” Season 3, so it's always nice to be able to trust the team to transform a tired look into something fresh and sophisticated,” says Gentry. 'Every time I get the chance to be in a show, I feel like a new person.'

More than the fancy setting (the renovated top floor of the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg, overlooking the Manhattan skyline) or the front row, Antonia Gentry's longtime love affair with Tory Burch has been the collection itself was her favorite part of the experience. I wanted to wear every look,” she said. The models looked beautiful, comfortable, and confident.

Throughout the evening, Gentry felt more like herself than she had in a long time. While filming the next season of the show, she mostly wore what she calls “comfort wear.” (Why dress up when you can head right to your character's wardrobe on set?)

“It was great to go to New York Fashion Week and be myself again, to be inspired by new styles and to be surrounded by people who love fashion and self-expression,” says Gentry. And also to people who love the designers she's always loved.”
