Lisa in black pink, rock star look in nude corset dress at the 2024 VMAs
Larisa Manovan, aka Lisa of Black Pink, started her Bad Girl era off hard at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), nominated for Best K-Pop, Best Choreography, Best Editing and Best Art Direction for Rockstar. The Thai pop star, who has been nominated for Best K-Pop, Best Choreography, Best Editing, and Best Art Direction for “Rockstar,” walked the black carpet in a nude corset dress that was almost catsuit-like in spirit, with a draped hood and gloves that extended over her arms. The dress was custom designed by Mugler exclusively for Lisa.
Not one to skimp on accessories, the Bulgari ambassador took her look to the next level with a gold serpentine choker necklace and a giant ruby cocktail ring. Her makeup was soft and feminine with a nude pink gloss lip and winged cat eye liner.
When asked about the inspiration for her look, the star simply replied. Lisa said, “I wanted something timeless and classic.”
Lisa and fellow Black Pink Group members attended and performed at the VMAs for the first time in 2022. The Korean girl group wore coordinated black looks for the occasion. Lisa wore a full Celine look consisting of culotte pants, strappy black heels, and a strapless crop top with a train and sweetheart neckline.
At the time, Lisa adorned a two-piece set with Bulgari's Serpenti Seduttori yellow gold pendant necklace and a pink and white gold Serpenti Viper bracelet. Of course, no look would be complete without Lisa's signature blunt bangs.
Lisa is currently embarking on a solo recording career while continuing to socialize with her Blackpink bandmates. Wednesday night's nude corset gown set the tone for her “Bad Girl” days, with a nod to a red carpet trend that other celebrities know. From Emily Rajkowski to Kendall Jenner and even Taylor Swift, corset dresses are the A-list's favorite shortcut to looking their sexiest in step and repeat.
