Taylor Swift's Reaction to Katy Perry's “Kind and C***” at the VMAs

Kamala Harris' presidential run wasn't the only thing Taylor Swift endorsed this week.

The pop star seemed to like the comments made by her nemesis (now more friend than foe) Katy Perry at the VMAs on Wednesday, as seen in a video Bustle shared on Instagram.

In her acceptance speech for the Vanguard Award, Perry said, among other things (via Rolling Stone), “My friends who were there when my Jetta was foreclosed on, my Katy Cats who have been there for me my whole life, and recognizing that I wouldn't be here without, Thank you to the LGBTQ community for showing me that I can be both kind and XXX.”

In a social media video of Swift listening to that speech in the audience, the “Fortnite” singer puts her hand over her mouth when she hears the “kind and c***” part and turns to friend and collaborator Jack Antonoff, who is sitting behind her Visible. Antonoff points to Swift and seems to describe himself as a bit “kind and c***,” to which Swift enthusiastically agrees.

The two women have enjoyed a long and winding friendship over the years, but there was a long interval that was locked in a notorious feud that fans believe culminated in Swift's 2014 song “Bad Blood.”

Although she did not specifically name Perry at the time, Swift explained the lyrics of “Bad Blood” to Rolling Stone magazine that same year and spoke of one female artist: “She basically tried to sabotage the whole arena tour. She basically tried to sabotage the whole arena tour.

In 2018, however, the two women cleared up their misunderstanding and appear to have been firmly on each other's side ever since.

In February, Perry attended the Eras tour in Sydney and posted a selfie with Swift on Instagram, captioning it, “Got to see my old friend shining tonight.”

All's well that ends well!
