Oprah Front Campaign to Replace LaPointe's Spring 2025 Runway
Each season, LaPointe offers one of the most talked-about runway shows at New York Fashion Week. In February, for example, the luxury brand opened its biennial show with a logoed yellow school bus. The season before, models marched down the cobblestone sidewalks of Soho, bringing LaPointe's signature feathers and foils to the streets of New York City. This September, the brand made waves again, but this time it did so without putting on a show. [Sally LaPointe said on the brand's website, “We felt like the runway was expected of us and we wanted to do something completely different. Instead, we knew that whatever we did had to be meaningful and really speak to the heart of the brand and our community.”
That something was to replace the runway with dozens of models with a campaign that put Oprah Winfrey front and center. With the famous talk show host in mind, Lapointe created the Spring 2025 collection, The Muse. The new designs embody the luxe, glamorous look that Lapointe is known for, with sequins, fringe, and brightly colored feathers, but also express Oprah's elegant personal style.
“I see Oprah as my North Star,” Lapointe said in a press release. 'We've been dressing her regularly for several years now, so I've come to understand her style and what she's drawn to. She embodies every aspect of the LaPointe woman. She is strong, courageous, and someone who dresses for herself, not for anyone else.”
The collection has everything you need for a stylish, metropolitan wardrobe, combining impeccable tailoring with ornate design details. Floor-length statement coats, embellished tops, wide-leg pants, and more are available for pre-order now.
“The main reason I said yes was because when I first met Sally, she was so warm and open,” Oprah said in the same release.
“She is an empowering woman who empowers other women through her work, her artistry, and her clothes.
As the inspiration for the collection, it was only natural that Oprah modeled for the campaign images. Shot by Reuven Afanador, the photo turned the Lapointe website into Oprah Winfrey's stan account.
In one photo, Oprah is wearing blue jeans (yes, jeans!) ) and is wearing a cape over a sequined and mesh blouse. The baggy denim, a staple of casual style, seemed at odds with the host's sophisticated, professional-chic look.
She never looked better.
