Lily Collins refines the bra-revealing trend under a mesh fringe dress.
Emily in Paris, Lily in Paris: the actor behind Netflix's hit show has landed in the City of Light, and she's giving an excellent performance as the fashion-obsessed character.
While promoting Season 4 Part 2 (which just premiered on September 12), Lily Collins attended a photo call the same day and wore a look that positively screamed “Emily.” She exposed her bra and paired a beaded fringe dress with sophisticated workwear.
Styled by Andrew Mukamal, Collins has been responsible for many of her most chic pre-stuart looks to date. This Dior design featured a low, narrow neckline and a flapper-style skirt with dancing fringe. On the other hand, the see-through nature of the garment meant that undergarments were in full view. It consisted of a triangle bralette and super high-rise underwear, both in noir.
Adding a little coverage to her burlesque-inspired ensemble, Collins wore a longline boxy blazer. Manolo Blahnik pointed-toe pin-heel pumps added to the working girl aesthetic, while dangling Cartier earrings added another layer of glamour.
Collins did not accessorize further, but her all-black outfit coordinated perfectly with the black and white striped carpet on her feet (totally an Emily move).
This “fit” was unmistakably Emily's coords; in fact, she used this styling trick in season 3. While out in Paris (where else?) the fictional social media star layered a black suit jacket over her bra and wore it like a shirt.
As a notorious maximalist, Emily's look was far more theatrical than Collins' elegant 1920s glamour. Her blazer was black mesh with diamond cutouts, and her undergarments were printed with oversized gingham checks.
One woman, one look, two very different ways.
