Ayo Edebiri's 2024 Emmy Awards Sequined Red Carpet Dress is Literally a Bespoke Work of Art
Ayo Edebiri has been an integral part of the Emmy red carpet since “The Bear” first appeared on Hulu in 2022. She first attended the ceremony that year, and the following year (2023) she won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Her career has progressed since then, and she received a long-desired Best Actress nomination for the same role at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
On every red carpet, Emmy or not, Edebiri shows a new facet of her ever-changing style. From androgynous suit styles, to girly styles, to high fashion, she is known to switch up her aesthetic with each red carpet appearance.
For the 2024 event, Edevili brought yet another style dynamic to the carpet. She chose a strapless dress covered in black and orange sequins. According to Edevili, this unique print and color story was inspired by the work of Italian artist Gaetano Pesce, who died earlier this year.
The colorful look, styled by Daniel Goldberg, was paired with minimalist accessories: gold teardrop earrings and black patent leather pumps.
Edevili's look was the latest in her series of aesthetic experiments. For example, at the 2022 Emmy Awards, she looked like a fairy princess in pastel pink tulle. Her high-low dress was adorned with satin ribbons on each shoulder and a silver floral appliqué on the front.
The following year, Edebiri did a 180-degree turn, choosing a futuristic leather corset dress with a dramatic bubble skirt for her second Emmy appearance (and resulting win). Louis Vuitton's design was painfully chic, with just a hint of edge.
The common thread running through all three of Edevili's looks was a simple two-strap sandal heel.
Another year of red carpet wins and hopefully an Emmy as well.
